COURSE OVERVIEW: The Autumn Embroidery Program

Technical Foundations: Aari and Lunéville Intensive for Emerging Artisans

Bridge global heritage with modern practice in this comprehensive, beginner-friendly program. Designed for those with no prior experience, this course equips you with the specialized skills to command the tambour hook and produce work of true couture caliber.

Program Overview

This course includes three exclusive printable patterns, taught using both the Aari (Indian-origin) technique and the Lunéville (French) embroidery method, working with a traditional Lunéville crochet hook.

The primary goal of the program is to help you master essential tambour stitches, using both thread-only techniques and embellishments. You’ll also be introduced to more advanced methods, providing a strong foundation for continued skill development and creative growth.

Learning Experience

The Fall Program is designed for individuals with no prior experience in embroidery. It provides a structured and comprehensive introduction to the craft, eliminating uncertainty about where to begin and which materials to use.

Participants will receive detailed guidance on all tools, techniques, and materials involved in the embroidery process, ensuring a solid and confident foundation.

Lessons & Instruction

The program consists of 13 high-quality pre-recorded video lessons, comprehensive PDF instruction materials, and 29 detailed tutorials covering each stage of the embroidery process. This structured approach allows students to study Lunéville and Aari embroidery techniques in a clear, accessible, and in-depth manner.

Throughout the course, students will learn how to professionally assemble and mount an embroidery frame, work correctly with the hook, position their hands for precision and efficiency, and practice both Lunéville and Aari techniques using fine metal threads and a variety of embellishments. The program also includes advanced exercises that combine multiple techniques, enabling students to gradually develop more complex embroidery skills.

Couture Materials

Students may choose to enroll in the program with the same materials and tools used throughout the course. A complete embroidery kit can be shipped directly to your address, or, alternatively, a detailed materials list with links to recommended online suppliers can be provided.

Materials used in the course include:

  • Large embroidery frame (60 × 60 cm) with hardware set

  • Ribbon and organza fabric

  • Three colors of metal threads

  • Lunéville crochet hook with needle No. 70

  • Assorted beads, sequins, and pearls

All recommended suppliers have been carefully tested by our instructors and students to ensure quality and reliability.

Additional Information and Testimonials

Precision and Practice: Mastering the tambour hook and developing proper hand positioning is a precise and gradual process that requires focus and consistency. Students should expect to dedicate sufficient time in the early stages to build the muscle memory and tactile sensitivity essential for professional-level results.

Learning Process: The learning curve for tambour embroidery demands patience and commitment. Progress is achieved through repeated practice, allowing technique and control to develop naturally over time.

Optimal Working Conditions: Due to the fine and detailed nature of couture embroidery, we strongly recommend working in natural daylight or under a high-quality professional light source to ensure comfort, accuracy, and visual well-being.

Certification and Mentorship: Upon successful completion of all assigned projects, students will receive an official Certificate of Completion along with a Personal Letter of Recommendation, confirming their skills and readiness for professional and couture-level work.

"Your videos are very easy to understand and I am blown away by how well the picture turned out. Of course, it's not perfect - but I like it for the first thing I did. It was amazing how much the character of the image changed as it progressed.

You explained the lessons very well, so there was nothing left for me to ask. In addition, I am an eye person who learns best by watching - so video courses are ideal. Next, I'll start with winter and I'm sure I'll enjoy doing it as much as I did the first course."
